La Casa Batlló

Batllo House is a building designed by the most prestigious representative of Catalan Modernisme, Antoni Gaudí. It was built between 1905 and 1907, and is located at 43, Passeig de Gràcia, a broad promenade that runs through the Eixample district of Barcelona, where works of other important modernist architects can also be found: the Casa Amatller, adjoining Gaudí‘s work, designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, and the Casa Lleó Morere by Lluís Domènech i Montaner.

Like everything Gaudí designed, the Casa Batlló defies the confines of conventional building standards, captivating the visitor through its eccentric forms and countless astonishing details in the decoration of the faҫade and the interior of the house.
