Ocho BCN Gastrobar – Romantic restaurant in Sant Antoni
Last week we went to have dinner at the Ocho Bcn Gastrobar and enjoyed a romantic dinner served with great affection by Fabianna.
The atmosphere was very cozy and intimate, accompanied by images projected in black and white of different silent films and jazz music in a perfect volume to listen to the companion and speak without having to raise the voice.
According to its website, this restaurant is “product of the fusion of Argentine cuisine and the Mediterranean expression”.
The house chose a delicious wine that according to the words of Carlos Delgado, journalist from El País, is “a white wine with a shocking final chord”.
The kitchen is on sight, something that is always nice as you see how they manipulate food. Fabian, the owner and cooker, likes to introduce new dishes every fourteen days and the ones that are most successful are those that stay on the menu. As a good Argentinean has a great hand for grilled meat, but he does not forget to introduce delicious vegetarian alternatives for those who do not eat meat or fish, such as: grilled vegetables, goat’s curl and strawberry vinaigrette, couscous tabulé or homemade gnocchi with pesto of dried tomatoes.
We detail our dinner below:
- Provoleta with oregano that gave a special character to the cheese
- Potato wedges with red “mojo picon”
- Flat-topped sausage with caramelized onion and glass coca bread with tomato
- Meat and chicken patties
- Meat from Galicia with chimichurri
- Dessert pancake with “dulce de leche”
The restaurant is small, so we recommend you to book in advance to make sure you will find a table, especially during the weekend. Extra note: that the furniture is made of recovered and recycled materials.
