Summer comes and you feel like enjoying a beach day. Why not take the train and leave the city? South of Barcelona, the beaches of Castelldefels, Sitges and Garraf are waiting for you.
In about 20 minutes by train you can get to Castelldefels (make sure you get off at Castelldefels – playa), which has a nearly 5 kilometers long beach with all kinds of services. In this endless beach you can also play sports like kytesurf.

If you are staying at The Urban Suites, you will have to go walking during 5 minutes to Spain Square, where you have to take the yellow bus L95.

30 minutes away by train from Barcelona lies the small village of Garraf, with a (relatively) small beach. It looks like a cove (“cala”) and the fishermen’s huts give to this beach a special charm.

Sants Station is situated 5 minutes walking from The Urban Suites, where you can take the line R2 with destiny to Sant Vicenç de Calders or Vilanova i la Geltrú and 7 stops after, you will be in Garraf.

In about 35 minutes by train you can get to Sitges, a beautiful village known for its gay nightlife, its lively shopping centre, and its numerous beaches. The character of each of them makes it breathe very different atmospheres: there are small and quiet coves (“calas”), wide beaches of fine sand and familiar atmosphere, and urban beaches overlooking the historical center and situated on the Paseo.

To go to Sitges, you will have to take the R2 line in Sants Station, with a frequency every 30 minutes and a duration of 25.
