Facing these times of uncertainty, what kinds of innovative challenges can architecture offer today? What is being done well and what needs to be improved? Which new materials and techniques can be used?
All of these questions and many more will be addressed starting on Wednesday August 29th at 13ª Internacional Exhibition in Arquitectura-La Biennale di Venezia – Common Ground.
This new edition presents a total of 66 projects that offer their vision of the challenges architecture faces today and debates the ideas and tendencies that one must take into account when constructing buildings. The biennal runs until November 25th and includes the participation of 55 countries.
For this edition Catalunya and the Balear Islands are taking part for the first time ever with the work Vogadors, the project is the brainchild of architects Jordi Badi and Félix Arranz who won the competition organized by the Ramon Llull Institute.
Jordi Badia and Félix Arranz chose new works by young architecture studios to describe a way of understanding architecture that, like rowers (vogadors), moves forward while looking back- always keeping tradition in mind.
It’s an event that brings together architects from around the world, both famous and unknown, to discuss the future of architecture.
