Caixa Forum was inaugurated in February 2002, CaixaForum is the Barcelona headquarters of Fundació "laCaixa", a social and cultural foundation belonging to "la Caixa" savings bank (whose logo you must have already noticed, as it is next to omnipresent in Barcelona's "signscape").

The main exhibitions consist essentially of  "la Caixa" modern art collection -one of the biggest in Spain, with over 700 works- alternatively displayed around a theme, and the temporary exhibitions.
