Auditorium of Barcelona

L'Auditori of Barcelona  (Auditorium) is a modern building of 42,000 square metres designed by the architect Rafael Moneo that was opened on 22nd March 1999.

The building has three different modern spaces: Sala 1 Pau Casals for 2,200 spectators; Sala 2 Oriol Martorell, with 600 places and, Sala 3 Tete Montoliu with 400 places.

It lies strategically in front of the National Theatre of Catalonia in between the bustling streets of Gran Via, Diagonal and Meridiana. The 42,500 square metre building is based next to a central patio. Furthermore, it is the headquarters of the ESMUC Catalonian Academy of Music and it houses the Music Museum, and the Catalonian National Opera.
