My wife and I are living in Barcelona for many years now, so we don't know much about accommodations in this city. But recently, the need of a major construction work in the building where we own a flat forced us to leave the place for at least one month. Our son, who lives in Madrid and visits us three or four times a year, recommended us The Urban Suites, the apartments where he stays with his wife and our grand-daughter when they come to Barcelona. When we argued that it might be quite a long time to be lodged in a hotel he answered: "I could perfectly live at The Urban Suites for a month ... or longer". We followed his advice, got in touch with Isabel Creus, the obliging manager of the apartments, who immediately arrange a more than reasonable rate for us and ... there we went. Finally the stay was two month long and was so nice and comfortable that we felt like in a second home. So if you're thinking of visiting Barcelona and you like to feel at home The Urban Suites is your place. The highest relation quality/price. Ideal, quiet location, transportation facilities in the immediate vicinity and a wide variety of shops and restaurants including a newly open commercial mall three blocks away. On the other hand, you'll find in the apartments everything you need to live like home. And, last but not least, a friendly attention from a crew of wonderful people who do their best to make you feel comfortable. As I first said, my wife and I don't know much about accommodations in Barcelona but we do know how you feel living at home and at The Urban Suites we felt at home.

Travelled to Barcelona with my wife for a short break. Got the train from the airport to Sants station (quick and convenient). The Urban suites are about 10 minute walk from the station. The immediate area is quiet with some shops/restaurants close by. It is a mix of commercial and residential and has a real local feel to it. We felt safe in the evenings when walking home and never felt threatened. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted at reception and offered advice on all aspects of Barcelona from shopping, to eating out, to the sights. The staff seemed really eager that we make the most of our time in Barcelona offering us maps/brochures etc. Very impressive.We were shown to our accommodation which was clean, bright, spacious and comfortable. My wife was very impressed with level of equipment in the kitchen. Urban Suites are close to transport links and which I found especially good - only three Metro stops from Camp Nou Football Stadium,
All in all, it was a good experience. .

We picked The Urban Suites based on reading previous reviews from Tripadvisor; all the positive reviews are accurate and paint a great picture of the hotel and area. We took the Aerobus to the Placa Espanya (20 minutes) and walked 10 minutes to the hotel; very easy to do and find. It is located in a perfect location; close to the metro, train stations, grocery stores (Mercadona market is 2 minutes walk away), shopping, restaurants, bakeries and many attractions. The area is in a local Barcelona neighborhood with a real local feel. We felt safe walking home at night. It is also a very quiet area so if you stay in the rooms facing the street it most likely will be quiet. We stayed in room 211 and it was exactly as it appeared on their website; clean, very spacious, plenty of kitchen utensils, storage space, towels and linens. The room had a pleasant view of the back yard and the backyards of several other buildings. Some rooms have balconies, ours did not. The hotel is extremely quiet. The ladies who run this hotel made our stay in Barcelona. They helped with all our “tourist” questions and made us feel very, very welcome.

Also, if you are a traveler who does not have a cell phone you will have to ask the ladies in the office to activate your hotel phone for 5 Euros as it is not turned on until you ask. We never used our phone, but it was there in case there was an emergency at night (health concern, no taxi for airport etc) and we had to phone their emergency number. Don’t assume the phone is on as we did.

I highly recommend this hotel if you want a huge hotel room, the ability to cook your own meals, and be in a place that is easily and quickly accessible to all of Barcelona and surrounding cities. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Barcelona.

Our stay was delightful - the room was super clean and nicely stocked with kitchen appliances and crockery to make our lazy morning breakfasts very easy. The hotel is also conveniently located near a grocery store and several metros, so getting into city centre was really easy. The best part of Urban Suites was the staff, who were very warm and knowledgable about what to see and do in Barcelona. Highly recommended!
